Dartball is back Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. It’s great fun and we need players. For more information contact John at 419-668-6245.

 

Afternoon at the movies and FREE POPCORN! We will be going to the movies on December 29th. We will meet at Premiere Theatres Norwalk at 1:00 p.m. movie starts at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the movie of your choice for $5.50. Popcorn Free! Contact the center with any questions. Just for the Health of It

 

Fitness Walks at the Norwalk Rec Center at 1:00 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Starting December 2nd.

 

Chair Exercise (Low Impact) every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2 p.m. $1 or purchase a $10 punch card for 10 sessions. This is low-impact exercise. No reservations needed. Open to all seniors, men and women.

 


Zumba Your Pounds Away Every Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. at Pleasant Elementary. $5/session for drop-ins or make a healthy commitment and save every time you attend by purchasing a 10 class card. Savings up to $2 a class for seniors 60+. Zumba is not just for the young, it’s for the young at heart. Come join our instructor Tiffany Engle for a great time at these physical dance/exercise classes. No Classes will be held Dec. 21-31.

 


Stop the stress! Gentle Chair Yoga come join us for this gentle, modified form of Yoga. Approved by the Arthritis Foundation; chair yoga increases circulation, aids in heart and lung functions and improves mental clarity. Join instructor Kelly-Rose Ward. $3 per session. Worth it’s weight in gold!! Wednesdays @ 9:45

 


The Fitness Room is going strong! Check out the treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bikes. You’ll also find resistance bands, balance balls and hand weights. Do you need help figuring out what to do? Trainer in the room M,W, F 1-2:30. Everyone is encouraged to check with their doctor for restrictions and sign up for an introduction session before using the equipment. Once you are signed up, come in anytime.

 


OSU Nutrition December 12th with Dawn Winkle from our local OSU Extension Office. Join us at 11:45 for news and tips from the world of nutrition.

Healthy Living Workshops Every Monday at 11:45. Presented by Dawn Winkle and John Fell.

 

60+ Bowling Drop-in at Kenilee Lanes.  Tuesdays at 1:00 pm-3:00pm.   $2 per game/ $2 shoe rental. Contact John 419-668-6245 ext 31.

 

Balance and Toning Classes Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00-2:00 p.m. Includes warm ups, stretches, balance training and toning. This class is adaptable to all fitness levels. Donations appreciated.

 


Winter Activities at the Senior Center coming in December. We will be playing English darts, WII fitness activities; like bowling, ping pong, tennis and archery. Anyone with suggestions for other activities, please let us know. Call John at 419-668-6245 ext 31

 


Dessert Buffet Friday, December 16th. FREE following Soup & Salad Bar. Choose from a variety of delicious desserts provided by Senior Enrichment Services.

Needle Felting For Beginners Monday, December 12, 6-7:30 p.m., $8.50. Join Holly Shelly as she instructs us in making holiday pins or ornaments. Minimum of 3 students needed, so bring a friend! The class fee includes all supplies. Register by December 8th.

 


Swarovski Bead Jewelry with Sally Twitchell Sally will teach you how to make beautiful Swarovski jewelry. Stop by the center to see the samples! Tuesday, December 13th. 2 p.m., $16. Holiday Necklace featuring Swarovski Pendant. Registration required by December 9th.

 

Monday Morning Book Club Monday December 19th @ 10 am “The Christmas Thief “(Mary Higgins Clark with daughter Carol Higgins Clark) . Copies are available at the desk of the Norwalk Library. Just mention you are with our book club.

 

Green Craft with Nora Thursdays, December 15th and 22nd. 10a.m. Start saving your plastic bags for this craft! Any color will do. Learn how to make a rug using your plastic bags. $12.00 for both classes. Hook will be supplied. Register by December 9th.

 

Rug Hooking Workshop with Katie Allman Will be back starting on January 7, 2012. 10 a.m. Learn the art of traditional rug hooking creating a snowman design out of assorted textured wools. During this class you will learn the basics of rug hooking. Cost is $45.00. Registration is required by January 3, 2012. Ask for supply list upon registration.

 

Technically Speaking

 

Basic Computers with Deanie Berry. December 12th, 14th, and 16th. 9:30 am—11:00am. Just $15 for all 3 classes. Brand new to computers? Join Deanie as she instructs you on the very basics of computers, from starting up to shutting down. Registration required by December 7th.

 

Stained Glass with Jon Reising December’s project is Kaleidoscopes and Snowmen. Classes will be December 8th and 15th. 1:30-4:00 pm or 5:30-8:00 pm, $30 for the Kaleidoscope and $20 for the Snowman. Registration required by December 2nd.

 


Stained Glass Workshops are Thursdays with pre-registration. This is a great time for new and inexperienced students to try a simpler project. Fees are $7, supplies are additional.

 

Fused Glass Pendant Class with Haley Harvey.  $10 per pendant includes metal finding. Make as many as you want. Weekend class—Saturday, December 17th, 10 a.m. Evening class—Wednesday, December 7, 6 p.m. Register by 12/5/2011.

 

Intermediate Cake Decorating  Monday, December 5th, 5-7 p.m. $12. Join Cindy and learn how to make festive Holiday cupcakes. Supply list provided upon registration. Register by December 2nd.

The Ambassador's Group meets the 3rd Monday of every month. The next meeting is January 16th at 10 a.m. in Norwalk. Please join us to see how you can serve our communities and to make a difference.
